JTJB BANGKOK 10TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
JTJB International Lawyers Co., Ltd celebrated its 10th Anniversary on Tuesday, 1st December 2015 at the Pullman Bangkok Grande Sukhumvit Hotel with a luncheon reception and a seminar on the Development in Business Law in Asia, with a Special Focus on Investment Law in Myanmar.
Managing Partner of JTJB LLP, K Murali Pany and Managing Director of JTJB International Lawyer, Bangkok, Naiyachon Tathong delivered the opening addresses for the Anniversary event while our Guest-of-Honor for the event, Mr. Surasak Satawiriya, former Senior Resource Manager of the Bureau for Asia and the Pacific of UNHCR, delivered the keynote speech.
Speakers at the seminar from the JTJB Network Offices were Danny Chua – Senior Partner of JTJB LLP Singapore, Rahayu ABD Ghani – Principal Partner of Rahayu Partnership, Betty Chen – Attorney of JTJB Taipei as well as U Myint Thaung and U Aung Kyaw Hein – Consultant and Associate of JTJB Myanmar Co. Ltd.
We were also pleased to have Mr. Yutthachai Issawanich, AVP Legal Department of Bangkok Insurance Plc., and Ms. Sunart Harnpianpong, Judge and Secretary of the Central Labor Court of Thailand join Naiyachon for the talk on Criteria of Business Law in Thailand where current issues relating to insurance, employment and dispute resolution were discussed.

MARINE INSURANCE SEMINAR AND WORKSHOP IN MYANMAR
JTJB delivered a seminar and workshop on Marine Insurance for Ayeyar Myanmar Insurance (AMI) in Yangon on 7th and 8th December 2015.
The topics covered included preliminary documents required for reporting a claim, important points to note when making a recovery under the insurance policy, alternatives to mitigate loss or prevent further loss or damage, the outcomes if damages to the insured property is caused by a third party, right of subrogation and dispute resolution clauses for commercial contracts.

DATO’ JUDE P BENNY APPOINTED CHAIRMAN TO ADVOC GLOBAL
We are delighted to advise that our Senior Partner, Dato Jude P Benny, who is the current President of ADVOC Asia, has assumed the Chairman’s position in the Global Executive Committee of ADVOC, from November 2015. He will hold the office for 2 years.
