Managing Partner Murali Pany gave a talk at a conference held by the International Institute of Marine Surveying on the 8th of August. He shared his experiences in vessel collision cases and offered tips on how surveyors can help ship owners in the aftermath of a collision. He also spoke about the approaching IMO 2020 Sulphur Cap, focusing on how surveyors could assist ship owners in the context of due diligence requirements.
JTJB Thailand Partner Bunnasomboon Chaiparinya (Aaron) was invited to give a seminar on logistics services in Thailand at the Enterprise Singapore Seminar held in Bangkok on 23rd July 2019.
Enterprise Singapore is a government agency under the Ministry of Trade and Industry in Singapore that is committed to working with companies to build capabilities, innovate and internationalize.
Aaron spoke about the business landscape in Thailand, restrictions on foreign companies, joint venture agreements and how to protect the foreign investor as the minority shareholder.
In 2000, the firm made a donation to NUS Law School to constitute the above-named Award, in memory of the late Judge of Appeal, Mr M Karthigesu. The Award, which consists of a gold medal and book prize, is given annually to the best student in a shipping law-related module.
