Nicola is the head of the firm’s Regulatory & Compliance Practice. She commenced her practice in the firm’s Commercial Dispute Resolution and Shipping & Admiralty Practice Areas. She has been involved in a variety of multi-jurisdictional cases over the years and has represented clients in arbitrations (including GAFTA, ICC, LMAA, SCMA and SIAC), mediations and also appeared before the Singapore courts.
Her extensive background in dispute resolution has enabled her to handle both the advisory and contentious aspects of regulatory matters. She provides compliance advice, solutions for managing risk and training in areas such as anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering, international sanctions and corporate governance. Nicola also has oversight of the corporate secretarial services provided by the firm’s associated company, MP Corporate Secretarial Services Pte Ltd.
Nicola acts for local and overseas clients and is fluent in English and Mandarin. She is an Associate Member of the International Compliance Association (AICA), a certified individual of the Institute of Banking and Finance Singapore (IBF), a member of the Law Society’s Anti-Money Laundering Committee, an Ordinary Member of the Singapore Institute of Directors as well as a member of the Singapore Academy of Law. As part of her contributions as a member of the aforesaid groups, Nicola provides comments and feedback to intergovernmental bodies such as the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
