JTJB welcomes a new addition to the team with Captain Mohan Das Nair joining our KL Office, Rahayu Partnership, in September 2014 as a litigation partner. Capt. Mohan commenced his legal career in 2003 and his areas of practice include Shipping and Admiralty, Marine Insurance as well as International Trade. Prior to that, he was in the merchant marine and has more than fifteen years sea-going experience on-board various types of vessels. He subsequently became a Marine Superintendent and then a Senior Manager handling a full range of operational duties for a fleet of over thirty vessels. He has served Malaysia International Shipping Corporation, Perbadanan Nasional Shipping Lines and Neptune Orient Lines. |

ADVOC 2ND INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS LAW CONFERENCE 2014
JTJB took part in the ADVOC 2nd International Business Law Conference that was held in Bali from 8 to 9 September 2014.
The International Business Law Conference is an annual event that features speakers from multiple jurisdictions giving international perspectives on topics that are highly relevant to businesses.
This year’s Conference featured a total of 21 speakers over 4 sessions that covered Free Trade Agreements: Key Legal Issues and the Way Forward, Legal Aspects of Outsourcing, Data Protection Laws: A Review of Various Jurisdictions and Interim Relief in Litigation.
JTJB Senior Partner, Dato Jude Benny opened the Conference and delivered a talk at the Conference dinner while JTJB Managing Partner K Murali Pany chaired the panel on Interim Relief in Litigation and delivered a presentation on Mareva Injunctions.
The Conference also had the honour of having Ambassador K Kesavapany, Singapore’s Ambassador to Jordan, as the keynote speaker. Ambassador Kesavapany also participated in the Free Trade Agreements panel and shared his experiences as a free trade agreement negotiator and in the World Trade Organisation.
