Adriel is a disputes lawyer. He has over a over a decade of experience in dispute resolution, construction law, medico-legal consulting and strategic advisory. He began his legal career at Eldan Law, where he contributed to a landmark Court of Appeal case that clarified a point of law in the Security of Payments Act. He later joined MPillay—then joint-ventured with Pinsent Masons LLP—where he held vital roles in complex, high-stakes claims including claims exceeding $300 million.
His legal practice spans complex commercial disputes, infrastructure-related claims, and advisory work involving regulatory and contractual matters. Adriel is known for his ability to approach legal issues from both macro and micro perspectives—balancing commercial strategy with detailed legal analysis.
Beyond traditional legal roles, Adriel has held leadership positions in multidisciplinary environments, including overseeing medico-legal reporting and risk assessments. These experiences have sharpened his collaborative instincts and enhanced his ability to navigate sensitive, high-pressure situations with clarity and composure.
Adriel holds degrees in Law and Commerce from leading Australian universities and is admitted as a Solicitor in New South Wales and as an Advocate & Solicitor in Singapore. - Acted for the contractor in Lee Wee Lick Terence v Chua Say Eng (f.t.a Weng Fatt Construction) [2012] SGCA 63, a landmark case which clarified a point of law in the Building & Construction Industry Security of Payments Act (SOP Act)
- Acted for a major international contractor in a complex arbitration, assisted the team in their claim exceeding $300 million against a government authority in relation to an infrastructure project.
- Represented a major international contractor in arbitration proceedings related to an integrated resort project in Singapore.
